How does POPA work?

It’s really easy – once you have the product you just Twist the barrel, Push POPA on to your iPhone’s dock connector and you’re ready to Pop away taking pictures.

What happens when I connect POPA to my iPhone?

The first time you use it you will need to download the free POPA app from the Apple App Store. After that, each time you push the device into your dock connector the POPA app will fire up automatically.

But how does it really work?

The big red button sends a message to the POPA app (via a tiny circuit, approved by Apple’s Made for iPhone program) and takes a photo every time it is pushed.

Where are my photos saved?

The photos you take with POPA are saved on the POPA film role inside the app. Photos can be easily exported to the main photo album on your iPhone.

Can I use it with other camera apps?

Once you’ve taken a photo with the POPA app you can then send it into many other popular camera apps including Instagram, Camera+, Magic Hour, PhotoStudio and Filterstorm as well as productivity apps Dropbox and Evernote.

Does it need batteries?

No. POPA doesn’t need any power.

What's it made of?

The body is shiny aluminum lovingly wrapped with a black real leather grip for added feel-good factor. Imagine something beautiful – then double it!

Does it help take pictures in both portrait and landscape?

Of course! POPA helps take pictures from any angle. Your iPhone fits in super snug and won’t fall out even if you are jumping up and down at a gig taking photos.

Can I text and call when POPA is on my phone?

Yes you can send and receive texts and calls (and all other iPhone functions). You can probably do back flips whilst holding it too if you want to!

Will it work when I want to shoot video too?

We’re planning to have this as a feature of the POPA product in the future. Eventually POPA will be able to be used as an ‘on’ and ‘off’ button when you want to film stuff.

Will it fit in my pocket?

Yes and as it weighs in at around two ounces (55g) and comes with its own carry case it’s easy to take it everywhere with you.

Will it work with my iPhone case?

POPA is designed to work on your naked iPhone. We know lots of people use cases and covers so we’re also working on a POPA case that will fit like a hand in a perfectly formed glove.

Will POPA work with next generation of iPhone?

POPA works with both the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, running iOS 4.2 or higher including iOS 5. It’s designed to be easily adapted for future iPhone versions as well as for other smartphones.

Will POPA work with iPod Touch or other smartphones?

Not at the moment, but if enough people want us to then we’ll do it! Feel free to get in touch with suggestions.

I heard you got backed on Kickstarter?

Yes. We put POPA on crowdfunding site Kickstarter in June 2011 and we reached our funding target in just over 24 hours! The money raised on Kickstarter means the first batch of POPA are now in production.

Anything else we should know?

Our POPA design is patent pending and the POPA logo is trademarked. iPhone 4 is trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the US and other countries.

Does POPA need the POPA app to work?

Yes POPA requires the free POPA app. Using the app you can store, share and even send photos to other apps including Instagram and Camera+.

Does POPA have any Flash storage?

No. At Beep Industries we make products as simple as they can be but no simpler. POPA is a big red button for you iPhone camera – pure and simple!

Will POPA work with a screen protector?

POPA is designed to fit nice and secure on the naked iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S and so won’t fit correctly if you’re using a screen protector on your iPhone.
